“I am confident about win”: Gagan Thapa candidate for party's general secretary

The result of election of the Nepali Congress (NC) new president is expected to be published by tonight. The voting that began at 8:45 am today is to go on until 16:00 pm.
Party Acting President Ramchandra Poudel, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula are in the race for the party presidency and all of them are confident of their victory.
The Election Committee has planned to unveil the poll results by 12:00 noon today. As per the provision mentioned in the party statute, one has to garner over 50 per cent votes to win the election. Otherwise, a second-round of election will be held between two candidates with higher and the highest votes to choose a new president.
